The National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office (NMIO) (formerly the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC)) is a United States Navy military intelligence facility located in Suitland in Prince George's County, Maryland, southeast of Washington, DC. It is a part of the Suitland Federal Center. The mission statement of NMIO is as follows:

Advance maritime intelligence integration, information sharing, and domain awareness to foster unity of effort for decision advantage that protects the United States, its allies, and partners against threats in or emanating from the global maritime domain.

—NMIO[1]

The NMIO was established as a result of guidance from the 9/11 Commission, Presidential directives, and maritime security plans. Its goal is to anticipate and prevent threats to the people of the United States, its economy or interests abroad. The office's efforts focus on collaboration between local, state, and federal governments, as well as sources from the private sector, academia, and foreign partners.[1]

NMIO houses offices of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), the Naval Information Warfare Activity (NIWA), the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), and the Coast Guard Intelligence Coordination Center (ICC).[2] In 2012, the office changed its name from the National Maritime Intelligence Center to the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office, explaining that the new name more accurately reflected its purposes.[3] The Director of the NMIO is Rear Admiral (Select) Robert V. Hoppa; the Deputy Director is Captain Jose A. Nieves; the Assistant Director is Joseph D. Stewart.[1]
