The Sukhoi Su-33 Sea Flanker is the naval version of the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker made expecifically to the Russian Navy to operate in the Admiral Kuznetsov Aircraft Carrier. The main differences of the Su-33 and the Su-27 is that the Su-33 is made for operation in aircraft carriers and the Su-33 have the capacity of aerial refueling, capacity that the Su-27 don't have.

The Su-33 Sea Flanker, Is a fighter for exclusive use on the Admiral Kuznetsov Aircraft Carrier, manufactured by Sukhoi is the first version for aircraft carrier of the famous Su-27, is built on the same platform ( unit construction) of the Su-27 and tested the subsequent electronics of the Sukhoi Su-30; front wings were installed " Canards " to improve control at low speeds and is a fighter jet, embarked on a horizontal take-off aircraft carriers, which replaced the board aircraft project Yakolev Yak-38 and the more modern Yakovlev Yak-141 vertical take-off, by the superior flight performance, load capacity and speed offered by the Su-33.
